Skiing with Krause Family
In 1991 at the age of 36 I wanted my son to be able to learn to ski. I was going through a divorce living in a small mobile home and broke! I went to the Kalispell Ski club swap meet and for under $100 I purchased ski’s, boots, poles, goggles, ski pants and ski gloves used for both my son and myself. While at the ski swap I joined the club which provided my son with lessons and the ski club members encouraged me to come help with classes and they would provide me with a day lift pass. I had never taken a ski lesson and not skied for 20 years. I started with the youth that had never skied and listened to the other instructors and after lessons my son and I would practice what we learned. The 2nd year I taught the youth that were 2nd year on skis and by the 3rd year I was teaching more advanced skiers and after lessons I would ski with the more advanced skiers and began to learn how to powder ski. I taught lessons with the Kalispell Ski Club until 2017.

Skiing with Kalispell Ski Club
I was in Missouri for 3 seasons for a total of 23 years volunteer ski instructing with the Kalispell Ski Club.
Phil Sauer built a simple page from a free link for Kalispell Ski Club in the mid 1990’s. In 1997 I was commissioned to build a webpage that could house schedules, pictures and other information. I purchased the Domain of “KalispellSkiClub.com” and added it to a multi page website that was easy modify and upload. I managed the webpage and domain till 2001 when work took me to Missouri at which time Phil Sauer maintained the web. When I returned in 2004 I again resumed management of the Kalispell Ski Club Web page. In 2005 I began to moved the webpage to a CMS system and added code to take payments, web signups, class registration, email announcements and Excel sheets exports for instructors. I hosted Kalispell Ski Club website on my hosting company. In 2017 I asked that the ski club to save some money and host the webpage with a cheaper host and the president of the ski club interpreted that as I no longer wanted to manage the ski club webpage and moved the webpage to a new platform. I maintained the domain until 2022 when another web host took over.
That was 18 years managing the Kalispell Ski Club website , 25 years managing the KalispellSkiClub.com domain and 23 years as a volunteer ski instructor. Many ski club members have been honored with life time membership with 20 years as an ski instructor. I have not received this recognition.
